I'm going to tell you right now that this game is not pretty. The graphics are hodgepodge and the text looks pretty god-awful but don't let that fool you one bit. This game is REALLY FUN! I generally hate accelerometer games but this one has quite a unique twist. You don't just have to move the unit to pick an arbitrary direction but you also have to select a quadrant where the movement will affect. It makes for a crazy time trying to get your head around how to move the phone and get things to go where you want to go.
The game is on sale now for .99ยข and well worth the price. There weren't a lot of reviews so this one was a leap of faith and I'm glad I took it. The games don't last too long so it's a good short game for when you only have a few minutes to kill. It has global online leader-boards so you can see how much you suck compared to the rest of the world while you get really good at your hand eye motion coordination.
Check out the gameplay trailer & official site or just go buy the damn thing.

Everyone knows the rule, when someone asks you if you're a God, you say "Yes!" Superiority complex or not, thanks to Bolt Creative this is no long simple posturing to protect you and your friends from rooftop dwelling demons in 80's ghost movies. With Pocket God you actually play deity to a bunch of pigmys on an island.
When I say "play god" more often then not what I'm talking about is finding new ways to annoy, torment, and eventually kill your creations. Luckily you can make new ones just as easily. But this isn't some sadistic horrorshow, the pigmys have to face real life issues that you just get to sway one way or another. This isn't so much a game as it is an ongoing story that you make up every time you play it.
On any given day the pigmys might face a storm, an earthquake, an exploding volcano, sharks, man-eating birds, man-eating ants, dinosaur attacks or someone hogging the bathroom so long that those waiting eventualy pop. As God you can influence these events and make them more or less severe. You can also help the pigmys out by giving them fire, cooking their food, killing the giant bird that poops on their heads, giving them a spear to fight off the dinosaurs, and kicking people out of the bathroom. You can also change the weather, move them to a different island, or send them to Davy Jones' Locker.
Honestly, it's more amusing than it is fun, but it's enlessly amusing and it's the most regularly updated iPhone game I own. Almost weekly they release new "episodes" which add a new object or danger to the islands. At $0.99 I'm comfortable saying this is the best value game in the AppStore. I've been playing this for months and it never gets old.

Girls like their bling bling. I was an addict on the PC and now I'm an addict on the iPhone 3G. I blame my friend Crystal who told me it was available and in the same breath how it was like crack.
I think it's great that there are different play modes: Classic, Action, and Endless but I'm a classic kind of girl and tend to play that the most while enjoying backgrounds of I don't know what - the desert, Mars? The coolest effect is when I Level Up and get to zoom through a worm hole. I also appreciate the large lettered "Excellent" when I get lots of points - it makes me feel all proud of myself.
It's such a perfect game for the iPhone form factor, and it's easy to start and easy to end. OK, maybe not so easy to end.
If you are looking for a game that doesn't require a lot of hand movement or intense calculations and has lots of sparkly jewels, Bejeweled 2 from Pop Cap is for you! And it's a steal for $2.99.

Downloading games for iPhone or iPod touch is usually a cheap risk. Best case scenario, you end up with an effective and distracting time-waster; worst case, you're out a buck or three with a dud game relegated to the library of iTunes. I've got quite a few duds collecting iDust.
One awesome exception to my tendency to misfire on games is a game called Touchgrind. Despite it's weirdly semi-sexual name, "Touchgrind" is a great little fingerboard app (fingerboard? jeez, I guess Touchgrind is better than Fingerboard). Using two fingers, you control the little skateboard on a course filled with obstacles, rails, hips, kickers, and unusual ramp configurations. Although it's hard to navigate the park, since you can only see what's directly around you while you're moving, the finger ollies, kickflips, rail grinds, nose blunts, crooked grinds and shove-its make it a pretty fun game to play when you're waiting somewhere that you'd rather not make eye contact with people.
The pros: Unlockable boards, customizable board, realistic sounds, cool interface, & dude, it's a street skate game.
The cons: Only one skate park (as of now), hard to navigate at first, $4.99 price tag is slightly high, & it's called "Touchgrind."
It's my favorite game, though. I play it more than Flight Control, more than Topple, and more than Flick Fishing (all of which, I like). If you're not into skateboarding? No idea if this is for you. Your call, bro. I'd say for 4.99...probably worth a shot. Love skateboarding? Dude, do it.
Skate and Destroy.
